List Update: Jake Greiser

The Melton Bloods are pleased to announce that Jake Greiser has aligned himself with the Bloods in 2018 while remaining on the VFL list at Williamstown.

With the VFL Development League winding up at the end of the 2017 season, any players fit to play and not selected for VFL Senior football on a given weekend will return to local footy in 2018.

However, after finding a role as a rebounding defender with Williamstown, appearances from Greiser at MacPherson Park could be limited in 2018.  He played 11 Senior games with Williamstown in 2016 and added another 16 Senior games to that in 2017.

Football Manager Brad Jamison explained the Bloods philosophy with players committed at VFL level.   "As is the case with all VFL and TAC Cup listed players aligned with our club, we're there to play a supporting role and assist when required, but want to see them playing as much footy at the highest level as possible".

Greiser, 22, has an impressive football CV which includes Vic Metro U18 representation in 2013 and a runner up in the Western Jets B&F in the same year.  “Jake played his Western Jets footy as a strong inside midfielder, but has found a new role in defence in the past couple of years at VFL level.  He's got elite kicking skills and a real hardness for the contest.  I've seen Jake play a lot of footy over the past few years and really pleased he's chosen to make Melton his local interchange club".

Greiser joins Liam Carter as Williamstown VFL listed players connected to the Melton Bloods in 2018.  Williamstown's VFL season kicks off on Sunday April 8th at Williamstown Football Ground, with their first practice match on Saturday March 3rd against Casey Demons at Casey Fields.
