Peck Takes on the World

Congratulations to Sharks M1 Coach, Nic Pecchiar, who has been appointed Assistant Coach of the Australian U18 Boys team to contest the 2018 Youth World Cup in Malaysia, over the period 8-11th August.

Last conducted in 2005 (where current Sharks President, Pete Shefford, was Asst Coach to the Australian U18 Mixed team) the Youth Touch World Cup provides a pathway to Open representation for the young elite of our sport. Malaysia will also host the 2019 FIT World Cup

"Peck" has gone from strength to strength since establishing himself in the Townsville Touch coaching ranks, having gone on from club level juniors to coach Cyclones Men's 20's to a Qld State Championship, the Cyclones Men's T-League to a National title, and he is also the current Queensland Men's 45's Coach for the upcoming State of Origin & Interstate Challenge series.

Last year Peck coached the Sharks M1 side to their second Townsville Premiership in 3 years (runners-up in 2016) as well as taking the Sharkies boys to an historical NQ Touch Open Championships against regional NQ teams! Peck is also the incumbent Northern Schools Open Boys coach for the 2018 QSST Championships.

One behalf of all Sharkies, and fellow Townsville & NQ Coaches, we congratulate Peck, and wish him and the Australian teams all the best in the Youth World Cup.
