Sharks Claim Regional Jnr Championship

What a fantastic weekend had by all Sharks junior teams at the 2017 Red Rooster Nth Qld Junior Regional Championships - with our Boys 13 Blue side taking out the spoils in their division with a gritty 3-2 victory over Frogs, in dropoff; and a further 3 sides making deciders.

Sharks teams actually comprised 10% of the total team numbers in attendance, with Mackay being the only regional team to enter more sides. Not only did we put players on the paddock, but we also performed admirably, with 7 of our 10 teams making it into the finals series; and 4 of those going on to contest Grand Finals!

Commiserations to Boys 11, Girls 9, and Girls 16, who were runners-up; and congrats to Jason Pierce and his team (pictured) for their championship win. The boys arguably did it the hard way - not really firing on all cylinders throughout the decider - but the cream rose to the crop when it mattered most - and they stole the chocolates when down to 4-on-4 in extra time.

It was a fantastic achievement by our junior members, and the club is extremely proud of not only the results, but also the way in which they conducted themselves on and off the field.

A massive thank you to all our referees for their efforts over the weekend; as well as our coaches, managers, parents, players, and supporters for flying the Sharkies flag in the region's biggest junior rep carnival.

SHARKS 2017: Dream. Believe. Achieve.
