East Perth District Basketball Association (Inc.) (“EPDBA’) is pleased to advise that the East Perth Eagles U15 Men have won the 2011 Western Australian Basketball League Grand Final against Willetton Tigers.
The U18/1 Men played well but in the end went down to Stirling Senators.

Under 15 Men
The East Perth Eagles Under 15 Men defeated Willetton Tigers 80 - 64 in a great team game.

In the first quarter the Tigers established a small 2 point lead in a high scoring quarter 25 - 23.  Mitchell Robb and Shaun Ameduri had a great first quarter working inside the paint.

The Eagles came out in the second quarter with a renewed defensive effort and shut the Tigers down and had in not been for a long three point short on the half time siren, the Eagles would have led by eight.  As it was the Eagles went into the half time break 49 -44.  A great defensive quarter from WABL MVP and All-Star Andre Donlagic and at the offensive end WABL U15 All-Star Shaquille Maharaj scored five points for the quarter while Mitchell Robb continued on from the first quarter.

If the second quarter was good from a defensive viewpoint then the the third quarter was tighter again.
The whole team contributed during the quarter with constant rotation of players keeping up the pressure.
The Eagles restricted the Tigers to 15 for the quarter while scoring 24 themselves.
Andre Donlagic came out in a positve mood taking it to the basket, drawing a foul and going to the line to score both. Andre went on to score nine points for the quarter. The end of the quarter saw Issac Petruzio take a foul while shooting a three where he went to the line. At the line Issac converted all three free throws to extend the lead to 14 with the Eagles leading 73 to 59.

The fourth quarter was very tight. The Tigers put on the first three points for the quarter behind some pressure defence until Nathan Sparks put in a two from outside the key way with an assist by Andre Donlagic followed by another important scoring drive to the basket by Shaun Ameduri. The game got tighter in the last couple of minutes with Tigers shaping up to take threes to bridge the gap but a monster block by Mitchell Robb and a steal by Nathan Sparks turned the momentum which saw the Co-Captain Nick Moulton steady the ship controlling the ball at the point. The quarter saw the Eagles score 7 to the Tigers 5 with a memorable win by 14 points , 80 - 64.

A great team effort by the Eagles with notable performances:
Shaun Ameduri (19 pts, 2 steals and 3 assists)
Mitchell Robb (16 pts, 16 rebounds)
Andre Donlagic (13 pts, 6 assists, 8 rebounds)
Shaquille Maharaj (11 pts)
Issac Petruzio (10 pts with 7 from 7 at the free throw line)

Coach Adam Forde said "It was an amazing and rewarding season. We have had our run with illness, injuries, and other obstacles  but the will-power and togetherness of the team was unshakeable."
"What a fantastic end to a fantastic year."
