A Blast from the Past

This is Northvale's first ever football side.

The year was 1971 and it is an under 11 side coached by Graham Scott. Below is a quote from Graham about how the side got up.

"An advertisement was placed in surrounding milk bars and other shops to start the first Northvale team. Interested children for an Under 11 team were invited to turn up on a Tuesday night after school.

What a shock we received when 193 children arrived to take up what was to become the first Under 11 team. Thankfully I had a few mates plus my wife, who had a strong athletics background, who took up the challenge to accommodate several structured training sessions to accommodate all children. Needless to say we had more
than the one team that we were aiming for."
