U14 Mixed Div. 1 - Grand Final

After overcoming a big deficit against the reigning premiers, East Brighton, in their first final, the U14 Blacks held the top-of-the-table East Malvern side scoreless in a Preliminary Final third quarter rout that yielded 8.2.50 in just fifteen minutes of football, resulting in a magnificent win and place in the Grand Final.
A challenging Grand Final first half produced just one scoring shot and saw the strong Mordi Braeside team enjoy the main change with a three-goal lead. With confidence waning, these inspiring young men dug deep, played inspired footy and somehow found a way to be one solitary point behind at the last change.

After one of the greatest 3/4 quarter time coaching sermon's in SMJFL history by Tim Marshall and with the large City crowd charging their batteries with every cheer, two goals in the final stanza against the breeze lead to just the fourth Division 1 Premiership in St Kilda City's proud history. It is safe to say mayhem ensued upon the final siren! See team picture below. Final Score: 4.8-32 to 5.4-34.
