Game 3 Report

TRAINING: Thursday 6pm at Ray Blank Park (Maidstone Rd)

Match Report:

After last week's lacklustre performance the Eagles brought something close to their A game and were unlucky not to get up over a speedy Bulldogs side.
Things started well with a couple of early goals but the men from the most hated team in the comp were able to get ahead and unfortunately we couldn't peg back in front.

Eagles:            8.3.51      (Goals - Behinds - Total for the uninitiated)
Wankdogs:      9.15.69

Highlights:
Capt. Robles continuing to race around the field with reckless abandon.
Richie marking over anyone.
The best looking forward line ever taking the field with Todd, Sweaty and Grimace all up front at one point.
Kicking more goals than behinds for the first time in a while
Sweaty getting his groove back with some lovely goals.
The shepherding getting much better with some big and effective hits laid out by a number of players.
Stefan from the Bulldogs trying to evade Grimace by pulling him on top of him and then crying like a girl when 130kg of prime beef landed on his ribs.

Lowlights:
Marking still a bit sloppy at the back.
Sweaty copping a nasty back injury near the end of the final quarter.

Dick of the Day:
Clint Williams

Player of the day:
Everyone!!
Some of the better players were: Richie, Sam McDell, Charles and Henry Boon

Social Report:
Those of us who play their footy for University had a bloody great time at prizegiving.

The Other Result:
Blues:      16.19.115
Cougars:    3.6.24

Next Game:

Facebook:
Since we're so freaking exclusive, apparently you need someone who is already a member to invite you into the group. Actually, I believe this is so we can abuse the shit out of the other teams in a semi-public place without getting in trouble for slander and the like. This is the best place to get up-to-date information (i.e. when the fields are shut and we can't train). So, if you brought a friend along on Saturday, make sure you type their name in the wee box that says "+Add people to Group". It's immediately below Adrian in the banner picture up top.

Subs:

The comp isn't free to play in, and the funds took a bit of a hit last year to cover the cost of the flash as new guernseys we now play in. Cough up, lads.
Subs are $60 with shorts and socks.
Make payments to:
38-9000-0705124-07
Or bring it on Thursday/Saturday

Yours truly,
Deputy Chief Assistant Secretary Grimace
