U12 Match Report 29th May 2011

Zane Hayes dominated in the ruck and gave clean ball to Tristan Waller and James Lockwood. Tristan ran tirelessly all day and James, playing his first game of AFL for the season showed his great potential with a near best on ground performance. Jarrod Hackenberg worked hard all over the ground and just needs to concentrate on getting his hands on the ball first to have a greater impact on the game. Matthew Mitchell was used in both attack and defence and was rewarded with a goal after winning a contested ball under strong pressure from 2 opponents. Matty Scheiwe tried moved well and looked really dangerous when he decided to take the game on with ball in hand. Eamon Griffiths was a tower of strength in defence and turned back many opposition attacking raids. He was greatly supported by Jack Hayes who showed again what an asset he is to any team he plays in. Kaleb Quinn was a real livewire in front of goals, providing many strong leads straight up the ground from the goal square. He managed to get on the end of a number of penetrating passes from Tristan and James, but didn’t quite capitalise on his goal scoring opportunities. Jackson Price continues to improve with each game and it was very pleasing to see him back himself in the air and fly for a number of marks. Once he settles in to the pace of the game in the 12’s, Jackson will be a very good contributor. Dylan Versteegen didn’t stop trying in defence and just needs to modify his tackling technique to really put himself in a position to capitalise on his aggressive style. Boys, make sure you get to training with Micheal Riseley this week and start to build some momentum for the remainder of the season.
