Around the Grounds in Breakers Football
Breakers footy this weekend started a day early with our Under 10 Blue team playing on Saturday at Coolum High against Pomona who were avoiding the Sunday King of the Mountain player drain.
Roger's Under 10's were just fantastic all game in what was probably their best effort in 2015.
We hope that each player gains some confidence from winning lots of touches and kicking heaps of goals.
Game played in great spirit by both Clubs.
Next day it was on again at Breakerland as our Under 6's and Under 8's kicked off the 9am dew in some big matches of footy.
Our Mighty Under 6's took on Maroochydore again in a great game that saw the ball speed from one end to the other (OK maybe not speed but it did move impressively fast!)
Great job with this historic first ever Under 6 Breakers team and our thanks to the mums and dads for their great support.

Side by side at 9am were our two Under 8 teams with the Red's playing Kawana Vultures and the Blues up against our near neighbour the Jets
Glen and Michael were very impressed with the great team play of both teams and it really is amazing to see the improvement in every Breaker since the first match in March.
At 10am our Under 10 Reds saddled up to take on the Kawana Falcons in a ripper game with Coolum working hard to win the ball and then use it to advantage.
A good effort by the boys in a very strong performance.
At 11am our Breakers Under 11s took on the strong visiting Noosa Tigers.
It was a big ask for Coolum as key position players Elijah and Mick were out with injury/illness but the Breakers were up for the challenge.
It was a game of 'bookends' as Coolum were heroic in the opening term and dominated the play as everyone ran their heart out on a warm Sunday morning, and then again in the last term they kicked 3 goals to 1 against the wind and against a team that could rotate 6 players for fresh legs.
The middle two quarters were all Noosa as they flooded forward but Coolum's defence along with Sam's big frame did an awesome job to restrict them to 6 goals in those terms.
From Coach Andrew:
In the end it was Coolum 3.3 (21) dftd by Noosa 7.7 (49) but great spirit shown by Coolum
Goals Jack Caspers (welcome back), Zen (well done), Jack S
Best: Connery, Brody, Sam and Captain Noah
A great team effort in the first and last quarters and looking forward to the final 2 games of the season. Bribie then Caloundra both at home and hopefully with a full side.

Over at Fisherman's Road our Under 13's faced third placed Maroochydore in a challenging contest.
In the end our gallant Breakers went down to Maroochydore Gold today at Maroochydore – 48 to 22.
Game ending injuries to Lachie Astley & Lachie Forsythe made like difficult for Coolum.
Best Players: Tanner Griffiths, Jake Tolhoek, Grant Turner Dawes, Cian Mallon, Zach Anderson / Lachie Astley, Declan McKinven
Goals: Tom Akeroyd, Zach Anderson, Declan McKinven
Our Under 15's minus State player Connor Crofts (and Tom Ansell a bit sore/tired playing a bit role) ventured to Noooosa to battle the Sunday markets and the Noosa Tigers.
Coolum expected a real tussle but didnt get one and recorded a solid victory.
17. 10 – 112 def Noosa 1.1 – 7
Coach Lynden was thrilled with the efforts of Jarrod Broussard & Louis Parker who had their best games of the year and obviously was pleased to take the choccies over our near neighbour.
Coolum Goal kickers

Tom Ansell 4
Thomas Griffiths 3

Back at Breakers HQ our Under 15 Girls always had a tough ask in taking on Caloundra who had just lost two games all season.
Up to quarter time our girls had performed admirably and enjoyed a 13 point 1/4 time lead but in the end it was the visitors who scored the win 54 to 40.
Special mention to the 15's Girls who move the ball so well and apart from 1 or 2 advanced players are very even, very keen and very enjoyable team to watch play our great game
Our top of the table Under 18 Girls faced a tough challenge from the visiting third placed Nambour at CHS, and got the job done 70 to 51 in an absorbing battle.
Not long until the finals and I am sure the girls are looking forward to the challenge.
