What a wonderful weekend it was for our 5-7 year old Roys. This week marked the kick off of their first round for the season up at Noosa. Plus 18 lucky Roys kids (and a few from U8s stepped in at the last minute) got to experience what it feels to play AFL in the big league with a half time game at the Gabba on Sunday afteroon.

We have never seen such excited little kids to get involved in the game. We have a total of 25 little tackers signed up for our Roys program this year which is just brilliant. These kids are the future of our club and AFL in general. The program allows the kids to continue to develop their football, social skills and match play in a local club environment before officially joining Junior Club Football in U8's.

Sunday morning our kids started their season up at Noosa with lots of eager parents ready to get involved. There were loads of smiles, laughs, kicks, handpasses and cheering from supportive families. We are thrilled to support this program within our club and look forward to seeing these enthusiastic kids and families thrive in the wonderful game of AFL.

As if the kids weren't tired enough after their first game, many of the kids were joined by one parent on an exciting bus adventure down to the Gabba in the afternoon to experience AFL at the highest level. The kids were brilliantly behaved for such a long day and enjoyed every aspect of the experience with the bus journey down, getting changed in the special change rooms into their own AFL outfit for the game, running onto the field to the cheers of thousands in the crowd, and playing a short game with their new found mates. I can only imagine the stories the kids got to tell at show and tell today at school.

We are immensley thankful to all that contributed on the success of the day. Congratulations to our president Dean for once again making it all come together. A special thank you to our little umpire for the GABBA experience being 'Dylan Smalley' from U12's. The uniform they gave you was a tad big but you stepped up into your role very professionally. There are many other parents who went above and beyond to help make the entire experience for the kids a success so we do thank you greatly and look forward to a fun season of Roys for 2018.

And thank you to all the volunteers back at the Club house on Sunday who kept the Breakers ship sailing on with a full day of footy at our home ground.

Go the Mighty Breakers!!!
