Half Way Mark of the Season - Around the Grounds

For our mighty Breakers Under 6's it was groundhog day as they lined up against the visiting Jets at 9am. Without the huge pressure of back to back games this week, Coolum looked ready to go and full of running :)

Mum's and dad's must be providing big pre-game breakfast to our Under 6's as they look super ready to go each Sunday!

At 9am both of our Breaker Under 8 teams lined up side by side at Breakers HQ, withn the Blue team taking on the 'in-form' Maroochy Kangas and the Reds the high flying North Shore Jets.

After the entree, it was our Under 10's who provided the main course at 10am with the Blues taking on the Maroochydore Kangas and the Reds the visiting North Shore Jets.

The Blue team certainly had the harder of the tasks but battled well and each Sunday there is a gem or two that emerges from someone in the team. Roger is doing a wonderful job with the Blues and as they listen and learn they get better each week.

The Reds used their experience, strength and pace to show what a good little side they are. More handpasses, lots of big kicks and some great goals stamped a good game for the Red team.

Our Under 11's copped a 9am game at Gympie this Sunday and boy there was plenty of action even before the first bounce!

Big shout out from all your Breakers mates Connery, who collapsed before the game and enjoyed a free ride in an Ambulance and some great care from Gympie hospital. All pretty good now which is a relief to all.

With 4 players out of the team and the boys a bit upset, our Breakers took to the field and battled it out against a determined Gympie Cats outfit.

Leading 2 goals to 1 at half time, Coolum clicked into gear on the back of Zander going into the middle, Sams great hitouts, Lachie's leg work, Mick's huge workrate and Brody in top flight up forward.

Nine goals to zero in the second half was testimony to the big lift and great effort from all our Breakers.

Final Scores: Coolum Beach 11.9 (75) dft Gympie 1.3 (9)

Best: Zander, Brody, Mick, Lachie, Sam, Zac

Goals: Brody 4, Elijah 2, Jack 2, Lachie, Beau, Zander 1

Our Under 13's travelled to Pomona to tackle the undefeated Demons on their home deck.

Early scores indicate that our Breakers only lost by just over 20 points which sounds like an admirable effort

With its 4 Rep players in Mackay, our Breaker Under 15s headed to Nambour to take on the Blues, and it was a super effort by our boys to record a 165 to 6 win with 12 different goal kickers - what an even effort!!

Both our girls teams were scheduled to play Noosa but at different grounds (????) as our Under 15s took on the Tigers at Weyba Road and our 18s were supposed to be at Coolum High.

The  fourth placed 15s Girls were in a crucial clash against 5th placed Noosa and scored a decisive victory (50 to 34) in a win that takes them 2 games clear + percentage in fourth spot

Coolum's 18s girls sit atop the competition ladder and were to be taking on bottom placed Noosa, however unfortunately Noosa forfeited Sunday morning.
