RE-USE Under 8's & 10's Footy Carnival - 'The Breakers All You Need to Know Guide to Footy Carnivals

What is an AFL Sunshine Coast football carnival?

The junior football clubs (Under 8 & 10 teams) from all over the coast come together to start the season together in the one place.  Each team plays a series of games (3) which are 30 mins long (2 x 15 min halves).  It's a great initiative by the AFL that showcases how much fun our game really is.  There are kids everywhere! It's a big day - the kids have lots of fun but they will be not much use to anyone for the rest of the day and will sleep well on Sunday night - your welcome.

What do we need to bring to the carnival?

Players:- Wear your Breakers shorts, socks and club shirts. As usual, your coach will have your team guernsey.  You will need a hat to wear between games, lots of sunscreen, a big drink bottle and some snacks to eat throughout the morning and some money to use at the canteen (a full canteen is open at the event).  Last but not least, bring heaps of energy and enthusiasm.

Parents:- Your favourite outdoor chair and/or picnic blanket.  Suitable attire for the great outdoors and sun protection.  Lots of food for hungry footballers so that it doesn't cost you half your salary at the canteen. Last but not least, lots of encouragement and support for our mighty Breakers!

What time are the games?

Game times are below.  Don't get confused.  Both Under 8 and Under 10 teams are shown below.  Both Under 8 teams stay on Field 3 so parents can find a spot together and comfortably remain in the same position for all 3 games.  Under 10's move around a little but never too far so no harm done.
