Emily Stewart Club Champion 2017!
Emily joined the Southport Sharks in 2015 to play her first year of AFL with the U15 Girls team. New to AFL her background was a 9 year stint with Netball at club and representitive levels. After being told she was to short to play Netball at representative level going forward, Emily turned to AFL.
In 2016 Emily was named Captain of the U15 Girls Team and went on to win a 2nd Premiership with her Team mates in the U15's and backed up to also be apart of the U17's Premiership Girls Team in the same year.
In 2017 Emily also won the double this year, taking out the U17 Girls Best and Fairest at the Sharks, and also won the League U17 Girls Best & Fairest.
At 150cm tall and 50kg's, Emily has gone on to prove that Girls AFL in Youth sport is for anyone of diffent hieght & size, and with 16 positions on a field for Girls play, it just proves our great game is for anyone. Girls Football has doubled in registrations year on year the past three years and Southport Sharks has the largest amount of female registrations at youth level across the Gold Coast Junior league.
