Presidents Update - May 2013 - Kylie Coen

Presidents Update - May 2013

Grading is now completed.

We can expect fixtures for this round by tomorrow.  They take a bit longer now that grading is finished to finalise things for this round.

Then we will get fixtures for the remainder of the season.

There has been a lot happening.  Most of you would have seen our new Venue Managers Monique Tomaino and Isabella DiVirgillio.

It is great to get a consistent face to our club at the stadium.

The committee will shortly announce a date for the AGM (aiming for July).  We have stated previoulsy that we will be asking for a minimum of 2 parents per team to attend the AGM to ensure we get full participation and feeback to members re: the running of our club.

There are some great opportunites coming up for club participants.

Blackburn Vikings are holding a Next Steps Program for children born 2003, 2004, 2005.  The cost is $30.00 for 5 weeks on Friday from 5.00-6.00 at Slaters Reserve and it  starts this Friday May 31. Its a great opportunity to develop skills with excellent Representtive coaches headed up by Paul Lankford from Basketball Victoria.

The EDJBA is planning to hold a level 1 coaches course.  When dates are finalised we will put on our website.  The club will sponsor participation for coaches, assistant coaches or budding coaches. So please let your boys or girls co-ordiantor know if you would be interested in attending.

Finally  we are planning to engage an Association to run a Referee training course for Marcellin club members intersted in training up to referee.  I am trying to confirm some dates and will advertise these as soon as possible.

Thanks and good luck to all for the start of the home and away season.  A special thanks to the team managers who have a week by week propersition in keeping teams informed of game times during the grading phase.  Make sure you utilise the EDJBA and Marcellin Eagles websites for up to date info as they are updated regularly
