12th Grade Warriors in Action August 2017

Our 12th grade Pirates attended the Fencibles 12th grade tournament last weekend. Coach Vikash Nair writes:

A very good learning experience and exposure for the players playing against the top Premier Division teams.

There were five teams divided into four pools and we were in pool of death with all the top premier teams such as Western United/ Onehunga Rangers/Western Springs Nero and Eastern Suburbs Lilywhite (Metro Division)

We lost against Eastern Suburbs/Western Springs Nero/Onehunga Rangers but managed to draw with Western United.

We played like real Warriors against Western United and everyone who watched our game was very impressed by our performance and when they came to know that we were in Division 2 they were surprised. Even the coaches of other clubs present praised our gallant performance.

Pranav really did some outstanding goal scoring saves. Most of them said to him after the game that they were blindfolded by his goal keeping.

In the final play-off we played against Albany United and managed to win that game.

It really showed and proved that we too can foot it with the best teams.

The path of development I am trying to build is really bringing in dividends not only for me but the club also and I am very proud of my players.

The parents’ support was tremendous contributing toward sandwiches/fruits/ water/chairs/mats and lunch for the players.

Now we all are looking forward to the Jambo Festival on the 10th of September.
