17th Grade Girls: Norwest United Match Report - #13

2015 Grade 17 Girls Match Reports

Papatoetoe AFC avenged their defeat to Norwest in the grading round with an emphatic first half performance that left Norwest gasping for breath and wondering what on earth had happened!

Hatrick hero Ally spent most of the match knocking some shapes out and dancing in the middle of the pitch.... Dancing her way around the Norwest defenders and goalkeeper that is, not once or twice, oh no a fabulous three times to the delight of the supporters, coaches and her team mates!

Ally wasn't the only star of the show though and Girl of the Game Sarah was also magnificent and linked up well with Ally and Manu. It wasn't long before these great triangles of play created an opportunity and Sarah made no mistake in calmly slotting the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net.

The girls went into half time 4-0 up and surely more goals would follow in the second half?

Norwest changed their tactics and formation at half time and became a difficult unit to break down, but whilst Toey had several opportunities to increase the score, some great saves by the Norwest keeper and a few wayward shots resulted in a scoreless second half.

With three points in the bag Toey will be hoping for another victory next week over South Auckland rivals Pukehoe AFC in their final game of the season.

Team: Ally, Jodel, Leonie, Loren, Manuevaha, Maria, Morgan, Nga, Rosie, Sarah & Timishka

Stats: Papatoetoe AFC 4 v Norwest United 0 (HT: 4-0)

Girl of the Game: Saran Trenberth
