August Newsletter

We are keeping our fingers and toes crossed that the weather will be kind to us for the rest of August and we can get all games completed by the beginning of September. Last weekend was a stunner - although cold - and this weekend is shaping up well also...makes up for the dire weekends before. And that's enough about the weather!

Thank you to all those who turned up for photo night - it went really well. Unfortunately there was an accident on Matakana Road which prevented a few people from getting there. If you want to have your mugshot added to your team photo, pop into The Photo Shop in Warkworth on Saturday (open 10am to 2pm) and they will add you in. Even if you miss Saturday you can still be added just may not be the photo the rest of the team gets. Make sure you wear your shirt.

Many of you will be familiar with Craig Julyan (Craigo) who has been a familiar face around the football club for many years and is part of the committee as the Club Ambassador. Sadly Craigo has now entered permanent residential care down on the North Shore and has resigned from his position. Craigo always presented the Ambassador's Award at the Junior prizegiving, a huge bag of lollies to a team who never gave up in the face of adversity - this is a tradition we will keep going in his honour. Good luck Craigo!

And a warm welcome to our new Club Treasurer, Edwina Eru. Thanks for taking over the mantle Edwina.

Read all about the New World Warkworth Under-17 team's home game last weekend in the Match Report below. They hadn't played for four weeks due to weather, holidays and a bye but clearly the grass hasn't been growing under their feet.

Don't forget you can keep up with when and where your games are on our website - click on the Our Teams Fixtures/Results tab.

And finally...remember to keep supporting the truly awesome local businesses who are our sponsors.

Hope you and your kids are having a great season and Go Warkworth!
