2019 Committee Announcement
Dear All Members of the North Lakes Eel Junior AFL Club,
The Eels AGM was held last night 6th of November at the North Lakes Sports Club, thank you to all the members who were able to attend and Marcus from AFLQ for attending also. It’s exciting times for the club with all new members appointed to the committee for the 2019 season, thank you to those members who nominated and filled the following roles:
President – Patrick Hagan
Vice President – John Adams
Secretary – Imogen Percival
Treasurer – Scott Luttrell
Registrar – Sally Regan
QAFL/School Communications – Diana Hales
The committee is still looking for a few more members to help us out in 2019 with the following positions, please contact myself or John if you wish to nominate or require more information for any of these positions.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the 2018 committee for all their hard work this season. The club was able to field teams in all junior age groups this season which is a great achievement, as well as the introduction of girls youth teams, the U13s were their division premiers and the U17s were their division runners up. So thank you again to Glen and Piper who made it all possible at the Eels and to all our coaches, managers and team volunteers this season, without your passion and dedication our players would not be able to play footy at the Eels.
2019 looks very exciting as a club with a new look AUSKICK and Roy’s Rookies programs to be announced in February and the growth of youth footy. We are currently in the process of developing new sponsor packages which we hope will encourage more local businesses to support our players and club. Having these sponsors is vital for the clubs continued growth which will provide an enjoyable footy experience for all players and families.
The club has also been working closely with St Benedicts College, AFLQ and local council to upgrade the facilities. At present, we are currently focusing on the installation of new permanent coaches boxes which hopefully will be installed by the start of the 2019 season. Our next upgrade we are working on is the installation of four light towers which will provide the club the option of later training times and Friday night games. We will be applying for government grants to assist with costs later in the year, as and when they become available. Our aim is to have the lights installed by the start of the 2020 season and possibly have new change rooms with a canteen attached for the 2021 - 2022 season. We will continue working hard with St Benedicts College to make this upgrade happen.
Registrations are now open for the 2019 season. Please register early as this will allow teams to be formed sooner rather than later. Invitations have been sent out to all members and there will also be a link on our clubs website and Facebook pages.
