President's Note

In the short time I have been involved with the club I have noted a requirement for a more formalized approach to how we manage and support the coaches involved with our Junior Football program at Yeronga. The role of coach is often quite daunting and can be a stressful task managing the players and families, whilst driving skill improvements and keeping enjoyment levels high; all whilst trying to learn this new thing called coaching that in many cases can be a first time gig for the parent!

It is important to me that Yeronga Junior Football Club provide a structured Coaching Program that provides the tools to allow its Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Managers to develop and nurture the kids under their care whilst also growing their own experience levels and supporting them to remain in the coaching ranks at seasons end.

To this end it is with pleasure I would like to announce the appointment of Brendan “Noddy” Davis to the position of Coaching Coordinator for the Yeronga Juniors Football Club effective immediately. Brendan has been the Senior Captain of Yeronga for the last 3 years and brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge along with a passion for grass roots junior football and helping players and coaches achieve their best.

  • 28 years of football experience throughout Queensland and Tasmania
  • Under 18 State Team – Tasmania
  • Under 21 Southern Tasmania Rep – 2000
  • OSFA Team of the Year St Virgils FC – 2008
  •  Senior Premiership – Clarence Football Club (TAS)
  • South Queensland Rep 2014, 2015 (Vice-Captain)

  • Assistant Senior Coach Yeronga Football Club – 2016
  • Best and Fairest Runner Up Yeronga Football Club – 2013, 2014
  • Diploma and Certificate IV in Sports Development
  • Level 1 AFL Junior Accredited

Brendan will be looking to speak with all the coaches over the coming weeks as he continues to work on a coaching framework to support the future plans of the club. Please make him feel welcome in his new role.

This is the first of a number of initiatives being developed to ensure that Yeronga Junior Football Club continues to advance itself as one of the premier junior football clubs in Brisbane.

If you have any questions on the above please let me know -
