Boots for the Bush - Donate at the Canteen

Support Footy in the Bush

Support kids footy in Kowanyama by donating your old footy boots

Kowanyama means “place of many waters” in the Yir Yoront language. This far north Queensland community includes the Kokoberra, Yir Yoront [or Kokomenjen] and Kunjen clans, who each have language and other cultural differences.

In the photo below are the year 5 students of Kowanyama State School. They love playing footy and AFL Cape York visit regularly for drills and games.

"We would love your old footy boots so when we have competitions we can look deadly and show of our skills."

Coorparoo AFC is committed to helping out this incredible community of footy legends. We are donating a stack of footies and we'd like to send them some boots as well. Please help the kids out by putting your old boots in the bin at the canteen.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.

We would just like to remind everyone that we need to support our club umpires. It would be great if everyone could recognize their efforts at the end of the games.
