Season Welcome From Club President
Welcome to Season 2014
Dear Viking families, players, supporters and sponsors
I would like to officially welcome you to the 2014 Season.
Firstly I would like to welcome all the new players and families to the club this year. It is fantastic to see fresh faces around the club and on the field. I hope you enjoy becoming a Viking!
Welcome back to all of our existing players, families and supporters. You are what keeps our club moving forward every year, and it is great to have you back with excitement at what this season has to offer.
A very big welcome back to all of our sponsors, old and new. You really are the driving force behind our club, and without your support many things on and around the grounds would simply not be possible.
Season 2013 was full of high and low moments, and we have been putting a huge effort in during the off season to get the club ready for action. Our pre season working bee has tidied up the grounds and facilities ready for games, and I would like to say thank you to those who came down and volunteered their time for a couple of hours. Many man hours have been put into player and sponsor recruitment, and we are seeing these results pay off as the season commences.
Shortly I will be sending out a memorandum of the changes to our Senior teams in 2014. Whilst all club games are important, I would really encourage everyone to get behind our Seniors this year and show them support as we enter a rebuilding phase.
Our back field is in the final stages of development now, and will soon be able to be used for training, warm ups and matches. This is a very exciting expansion for our clubs’ future, and we appreciate your patience for just a little longer until it is fully completed.
The most important thing I want for everyone involved in our club to get out of this season is enjoyment. Have FUN in your training and matches, have FUN socialising at the club and making new friends, and simply enjoy our great game!
I am around the club on training nights and match days, and I would like to hear from you throughout the season – regardless of whether your feedback is positive or not. Over the past couple of years we have not received feedback on key issues until the season is already over, and we cannot make changes or fixes if we don’t know the problems exist in the first place. Alternatively, please contact me on the below.
