2014 Memberships & Membership Card Program
At the 2013 AGM, a discussion was put forward by the Committee regarding club memberships and membership cards. Attending members asked questions and with the Committee came to an agreeable decision regarding the introduction of club membership cards for the 2014 season and beyond.
The committee and members decided that it would be best to start off with a low-cost membership that allowed as many people to become involved as possible. There were also talks on how the card program can continue and grow in future years, and it was agreed that after the 2014 season we would discuss and vote on changes (if any) at the 2014 AGM.
There are multiple benefits to becoming a member and receiving membership cards for the club, its sponsors and members.
- As a club - we can accurately keep record of all of our members including players, parents and supporters instead of relying on player only info through Fox Sports Pulse, engage with our members to keep them involved in club events and activites and reward members though in-house promotions
- As a sponsor - we have an enlarged membership base and a captive audience to promote their products and services to
- As a member - we can keep you upto date with everything happening around the club, including game info, grant developments, facility improvements, club events and sponsor details, member only pricing at both the bar and canteen, member only specials and promotions. But most importantly - investing in your local club and helping it succeed for many years to come.
WHAT LEVELS OF MEMBERSHIP ARE AVAILABLE?
In our first year, memberships will be available for Adults (over 18) and Children (under 18). These cards will have a different design so they are easily identifiable.
WHO CAN GET A MEMBERSHIP CARD?
Anyone!! Membership is open to everyone associated with our club - players, parents, siblings, grandparents, supporters, spectators, neighbours... anyone who wants to become a member.
HOW MUCH DOES MEMBERSHIP COST?
Adult membership is $5 and Children membership is $3. All players who are registered and fully financial will receive a card at no additional cost.
DOES THE MEMBERSHIP CARD EXPIRE?
Yes, the membership card will expire on 31st December of each year.
WHAT BENEFITS DO I GET BY BECOMING A MEMBER?
A personalised membership card with your name and membership number.
In 2014, both our bar and canteen prices will be subject to increases. By holding a valid membership card you will have member only pricing, equivalent to existing prices. Note: uniforms and merchandise items are not currently subject to membership benefits.
Members only specials and promotions.
Members receive reduced hall hire fees when booking the Vikings hall for a function.
Our sponsor Barton's Bayside have already committed to donating $250 to the Vikings Club for every purchase by a member of a new or used car when the membership card is produced.
We are working with all of our sponsors to secure benefits when you show your membership card.
DO I HAVE TO GET A MEMBERSHIP CARD?
No, membership is not currently compulsory.
HOW DO I GET A MEMBERSHIP CARD?
Membership cards will be available from 1st March 2014. Prior to receiving the card, each member must complete a Membership Application Form and pay the nominated fee. Membership forms and cards are available from the bar.
We are excited as a club to be implementing such an important program, and see this as another way we are growing our club and helping it progress into the future.
