WELCOME TO SEASON W14!
Firstly I would like to thank everybody for giving me the chance to do my bit in helping to maintain and build our wonderful club.
I would like to extend a welcome to our newest committee members;
Serone Thomas - Stats and awards
Sharon Moussa - General member
Suzanne Grant - General member
Lauren Castles – Technology coordinator
We have started this season in a very healthy position both financially and in player numbers. We currently have 28 boys’ teams and 12 girls’ teams. I would personally like to see these numbers, especially in the girls’ competition, grow. Collectively as a committee we have ideas to try to see these plans come to fruition.
At the start of this season we saw the commencement of the Under 20 Boys competition. It was great to see a couple of faces that had been sidelined because of their age, back on the court!! There are currently 8 sides in the U20B competition and we are looking forward to these numbers expanding in coming seasons.
We are working on lots of areas at the moment, one being our website and our Facebook page. Be sure to like our Facebook page so that you receive updates in your news feed. Please remember to keep your social media “nice” in regards to status updates and comments regarding referees, other players and teams. Basketball Vic monitors social media and can reprimand and suspend individuals.
We are trying to gather and include as much information so that we can update our records and give a decent history to the club. If you have old photos or information that you would like to share please do. We would dearly love additional information on Adam Dunne. If you can help out in this regard we would be very grateful.
We have introduced ‘Player of the Week’ and ‘Where Are They Now?’ (coming soon!) so if you have photos or would like to be nominated please email me the player survey form together with photos to email@example.com
As a reminder to all players, coaches and supporters please support your club in a way that is healthy for our children and maintains our clubs good name. Remember elements such as friendship, compassion, sportsmanship and humility and most importantly FUN!!! Please have a read of our documents regarding codes of conduct supplied by Basketball Victoria.
Lastly I am excited with future prospects and I’m hoping to see great things happen both within our club and in the bigger picture at Diamond Valley Basketball Association. In supporting the DVBA we support ourselves.
Good luck with the season and happy basketballing!
