Well what a fantastic day for the Broadford Football Netball Club 2 weeks ago!

A season opener Sunday, great crowds, 4 wins and Bazza kicking 10. The day was prepared perfectly by our fantastic committee which involved many other club volunteers and even the junior football club. On behalf of the BFNC, we would like to send a huge thank you to everyone involved in making our first home game a big success!!!

Under new coach Michael Gillard and assistant Sean Duggan, the U18s kicked it all off by playing good hard, desperate football. The boys put in a big effort and had the lead at half time. Unfortunately, they ended up going down by only 3 goals. Best players were Ford, Zolnierczyk, Borrell and Hall who also kicked 6.

The netty got off to a flying start with the C grade girls having an 11 goal win. B grade followed suit with an 11 goal win also. A new look A grade side had a good battle with the Lancefield ladies, but couldn't hold on in the end losing by just 3 goals. This week against Kilmore i am sure the roo girls will bring home 3/3 and get the first happy hour of the season!

The 2nds squad produced a 60 point win, led by a best on ground performance and 7 goal haul from Mick Edwards. Other players amongst the best were Collier, Corey Hall, Millar, Harvey and Ezard.

The main event of the day did not disappoint with Barry and the boys easing into their first game together and bounce to a 42 point win. Big Bazza kicked 10, Dunne with 3, both being named in the best along with Briff, Gilly, Adam Sanders and Quade Comi. Great game lads, you done the club and town proud. Keep up the great work!

Good luck to all teams today against Kilmore and the U18s against Woodend!

Our first function is next week aswell!
