Broadford vs Melton Centrals

The netballers enjoyed a change of scenery last Saturday, taking the court at our local stadium. It was a welcome change to what would have been a day of ice skating whilst trying to play some sort of netball on our regular (in need of resurfacing) courts! Thanks to Ash, Justin and the girls for setting up the night before!

C grade continued their undefeated streak after being challenged by a strong Melton Centrals outfit. Melton closed the gap to get within a couple of goals, before the young girls settled and stormed ahead to win their 10th game in a row! Best players went to Madi Smith, Hannah Reardon & Brooke Bennett.

B grade started off really well but were then strongly challenged in the 3rd quarter. The girls had to work hard to peg back the lead and eventually ran out winners by 9 goals in a fantastic effort. Best players went to Jaimie Cavanagh and Hayley Milner.

A grade went down by 18 goals in a fiercely fought battle through some fantastic contested netball. Despite the score line, it definitely did not feel like we lost by such a big margin. With a few things now to work on, a few players to come back and a few more training sessions under our belt, A grade will be looking to firmly secure a spot in this years finals series and be real contenders. Best players went to Bonnie Cavanagh and Sarah Douglas.

Football scores:
U18s: 11.7.73 beat Lancefield 4.8.32. Best; M. Berry, J. Smith, J. Hussey, J.Hall.
Reserves: 9.10.64 lost to Melton 9.15.69. Best; N. Tyers, Juma, T. Speechley and Robbie Leiper.
Seniors: 8.13.61 lost to Melton 13.7.85. Best; Marcus Webb, B.L, Rowdy & Matt Whitty.
