PRESS RELEASE 20//03/2017

The Broadford Football Netball Club (BFNC) – Viability for season 2017

The Broadford Football Netball Club (BFNC) is calling on all players, members, supporters, sponsors, volunteers and the local community to get behind their Local Community Club to make season 2017 a viable one.

At the moment the BFNC is struggling in all the above areas to make it happen in 2017

Those who are intending to play need to come forward and register NOW. If not we will not have enough players for, first 18, reserves and under 18.5yrs to field teams. Netball also needs players, and we especially appeal to those who can come forward to play ‘A’ Grade.

We still need:

Reserves Football Coach

Under 18.5 Football Coach

If we cannot provide sufficient numbers by the end of March, we cannot meet our RDFNL league affiliation obligations, and therefore will not be able to compete in 2017. The first RDNFL round is on the 8th of April.

We will be holding a registration, membership night at the Broadford Hotel (Bottom Pub) on Friday 25th of March 6pm onwards.

2017 packages have now been sent out. Thanks to those sponsors who have signed on early. We much appreciate your engagement and ongoing support.

There is great potential for sponsors and prospective sponsors this year. Our club websites, Facebook page, our new electronic scoreboard along with a host of other activities are being planned for you to get your message out there. We want to offer you greater flexibility and exposure. We can tailor a package for you.

We need you now!

There are many volunteer roles in a football club; from helping out on the gate, canteen, BBQ, raffles, function staff to ground managers, team managers, prospective coaches, assistants and bar work etc.

If you do not do not have a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA) we will train you, A very handy pre-employment qualification in the liquor industry.

More hands make less work. We would aim to put you on a roster where you would only have to give a couple of hours each home game or when you are available to fit into a roster. We will help you and provide any necessary training for you to ease into the role.

Members and Life Members:

If you are renewing your membership or intend to be a member please come forward and get your membership for 2017. They are on sale now. I know Life Members have done there bit but we need you to dig in where possible. Personally, I would hate to be a Life Member of a club that no longer exists. The details can be found on our website. Come along to our registration night, training sessions (currently at Broadford Secondary College Tuesday and Thursday - 6pm) or contact BFNC on secretary If all else fails ring me on 04 18167776.

Now is the time to get on board we need you. Get a membership and volunteer. Enjoy the benefits of being involved in a community club. The clubrooms have excellent bar and catering facilities and provide a great social environment.

The Harley Hammond facilities are as good if not better than any or most community football clubs. The ground has just been resurfaced and will be a dream to play on, as well as offering excellent spectator viewing

The club president, executive committee life members and members would surely not want to see this great historic club struggle to exist or wind up.

You can make it happen. Please get on Get on board now!

President BFNC

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
