It was only a short drive down to K town for four of our teams on Saturday to meet neighbouring rivals the Kilmore Blues.
The U18s however ventured to Woodend due to their mixed fixture and the A grade ladies enjoyed a bye. So with a bit of a short scattered day for the club, the guys and girls in blue and white did not disappoint, 5 wins from 5 games!

The under 18s scored their first win of the season in a closely fought out battle with the hawks. The roos led at every change but only by a whisker with Woodend nipping at their heels all game. The boys stood their ground and held on to win by 5 points. Best players were Ford, Borrell, Hackney, Alldridge, Zolnierczyk and Thomas.

The C grade netball girls enjoyed a nice 9-16 win with best players going to Rachel Scully, Emily Coote and Madi Smith. A comfortable win was scored by B grade defeating Kilmore 10-34 with best players going to Sharna Faralla, Ash Mundie and Laura Bulluss.

The reserves got off to a slow start with the first quarter ending in a low scoring affair at 2 goals a piece. The momentum began to build in the 2nd quarter, allowing Kilmore to score only one goal in the 2nd and also in the 3rd. Going into the final change our boys held a handy 27 point lead to run out eventual victors by 32 points. Best players Smith, Bradshaw, Mills, Millar, Ezard and Hickey, with birthday boy Jimmy Ingham kicking 3.

The seniors held Kilmore to only 5 goals for the entire game. In a very average display, the boys had to fight hard for the first three quarters to stay in front, before eventually blowing out the score in the final term kicking 5 goals to seal the win by 43 points. Best players went to Dylan Scott, Berry, Fletcher, Walsh, Coomans and Comi. Scott and Berry led the way with 3 goals each for the match.

This week we welcome back Barry Hall in what should be a tough contest against Diggers Rest. Good luck to all teams today.

Saturday is our first function! ROCKSTARS NIGHT! 7:30pm onwards a DJ will be spinning all classic rock, rock, alternative and new tunes. $10 entry and prizes for best dressed. All welcome along for a fun rockin’ night. Compulsory for all players.
