ROUND 11 PREVIEWS | Senior Football

Talking Points
Rupertswood - is going along nicely. Has a 3-3 record against team's in the top six and has statistically had the most difficult draw of any team with three games against the current top six to come. Its biggest loss this season was to Diggers Rest by 28-points, a match where it led by eight-points heading into the final term. Fresh from a bye, this team is ready to roar into the back half of the season.
Woodend/Hesket - can start talking finals, only just. Played an impressive four-quarter performance against Rockbank last week to secure back-to-back wins for the first time this year. Has its tails up to beat Rupertswood, perhaps for the first time ever? Has a tough run home with five games against the current top six teams. If it wants to play finals, it needs to win one of these games, now.

Current Form
Rupertswood - lost its last outing by eight-points at the hand of Romsey. Despite that loss, has taken down plenty of challengers. A lot to like about where this group is headed.
Woodend/Hesket - secured two-consecutive wins to get that winning feeling back into the team. Still a lot of work to do.

Why they will win
Rupertswood - plenty of polish in the midfield and forward line. Gets many goals from its midfield and has strong talls. Its younger players are very well settled in the team. Kayne Murphy is a star and Brent Swallow is as tough of a player in the competition as there is.
Woodend/Hesket - it has that winning form and its big guns are firing. Tom O'Loughlin kicked five-first-quarter goals last week, and needs to produce that goal kicking efficiency more often. Marcus Stapleton is developing nicely in the ruck and should get the edge over John Barnard who has been in exceptional form. This duel will be vital.

Why they will lose
Rupertswood - it won't be an easy game for them and may underestimate the quality of opposition.
Woodend/Hesket - has been in good form heading into matches against the Sharks and has suffered heavy defeats. It will be a tough game for them but the upside is the winning form.

Who will win

Rupertswood will be too strong. It has only dropped one game at home in 2019 (Wallan by three-points) and look too good. A win by at least eight-goals may be on the cards.
