Mazenodians 2016

For many years the club has been fortunate to receive the support of members via the Mazenodian coterie group. The Mazenodian group contributes significantly to maintaining player subscriptions at a low level and encouraging ongoing player participation as well as enabling the club to purchase equipment.   It is the number of members that makes a real difference each year and is also a way of connecting with other supporters around the club particularly at our annual members luncheon. There are two levels of participation :

Gold : $300
Silver : $100

Members can get access to the Mazenodian group by email to mazenodfc@gmail.com and payment can be made by EFT  per below.

BSB : 633-000

Umpiring for Cash $$$'s

Each year the VAFA asks clubs to supply an umpire who then enters the VAFA umpiring pool and officiate in Reserve/Thirds/Club 18 games (not involving Mazenod).

The VAFA rewards any volunteer umpires by paying $80 TAX FREE  per game (paid monthly by VAFA to your bank account). Keep fit and get paid for it !!!

If you are interested please notify Chris Smith (csmithgs1@bigpond.com / 0414 752 762). This also assists Mazenod and VAFA greatly as without umpires games don't go ahead.

Around the Club

Mobile Scoreboard
The club is pleased to advise we have purchased a mobile electronic scoreboard. The scoreboard will be used at Mazenod home games and since the acquisition of the scoreboard we have been able to rent it out for suburban football finals series, as well as provide access for cricket grand finals and even Mazenod College student orientation. The scoreboard is 2.88 x 1.92 metres and is mounted on a trailer and provides colour viewing (can play any format through a laptop e.g. movies, DVDs.

We re looking for more rental opportunities and any expressions of interest regarding use of the scoreboard should be sent to Wayne Francis (0447 252 845 / waynegfrancis@gmail.com) or Peter Hanley (0402 146 186 / peterjhanley@bigpond.com).

2016 Player Sponsorship

Mazenod Old Collegians Football Club (MOCFC) is reigniting a rewarding initiative to our players and supporters via the Player Sponsorship Program. The aim is to provide supporters / businesses with exposure to an extensive audience and at the same time subsidise the costs of football for young men many of who are studying and/or unemployed. The main cost of playing football arises from subscription fees which are collected by the club to offset the expenses of league affiliation, equipment, insurance, medical, umpires and coaching. We realise subscription costs are an impost for young men and their families therefore in the interests of keeping players in the game to enjoy all the benefits the game brings, we believe this opportunity offers significant community benefits.

Benefit to the player sponsor

  • Free entrance to one standard luncheon held in the clubrooms during the year

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
