COME AND JOIN US AT THE MAZENOD PANTHERS IN 2012
Mazenod Panthers Football Club is a non-profit organization whose purposes are to, initiate access for people with an intellectual disability to the game of Australian Rules Football, and develop, manage and promote a football team relevant to the skill level of individual people. Attendees of Special Schools are qualified to play, and are especially welcome to come along and enjoy a game of footy with the mighty Panthers.
All levels of disability are catered for to create necessary skills and confidence for the participants to enjoy and integrate with the community and sport.
Games are played approx every second Sunday,and will commence April 2012 for a total of 13 games plus finals .Training is each Wednesday 4.00pm to 6.00pm during the season at Central Reserve.(Cnr Springvale and Waverley Rds Glen Waverley.or Mazenod College Kernot Ave Mulgrave.
We play in the Football Integration Development Association (FIDA )and are part of approx 22 teams participating in competition.
Season 2011 we had 47 registered players and two teams in different grades of football, this season we anticipate the same.
Our registration fee is $100 that we pay to FIDA for insurance cover. A reminder to our new players that we not only perform as professionals with pride and dignity, but we also look like professionals, so all new players will be issued with club hooded windcheaters, shorts and socks. Jumpers are provided by the club, or you may prefer to purchase your own from the club, to have as a reminder of the great times spent playing footy for the Panthers.
After a successful 2011, we are looking forward to another successful season in 2012, if you have friends that would also like to play, bring them along as well new player registrations can be taken until June 2012. Our website www.mocfcvic.org.au for more information, photos, news, etc.
