Round 8 Vs. Westbourne wearing 50th Anniversary Jumper

Chadstone faced an uphill battle taking on third place Westbourne Grammarians FC. After a week of soul searching and solid training Chadstone were harder at the contest and showed some physical presence in the first half. Despite the effort Westbourne were able to kick away and built a 13 goal lead heading into the main break. The second half started poorly for Chadstone with ruckman Carl Margary injured and having to be taken to hospital. As the game wore on Westbourne were able to capitalize on the injury ravaged Chadstone as they ran out big winners notching up their fifth win for the season. Once again captain Dave Bennett threw his body at every contest and lead the way on the field. Danny Luff in the backline, Caleb Vardy-Olsson in the midfield and Luke Farrugia in full back were standouts. The bye and season break have come at the right time for Chadstone who will be looking forward to freshening up some players and preparing for their next game as they host Masala FC.
