Chadstone used their mid season break to fine tune some skills and re-ignite passion and belief in the club. Team meetings and the development of key structures have helped unite the club and it showed with the Synners notching up two wins with both the Seniors and Reserves registering long awaited victories.
The Synners started the game full of dare and pace as they hit the scoreboard early and begun to build a small lead before Masala hit back and levelled the game heading into half time. The second half was played very much in Chadstone's favour, with the synners capitalising on turnovers in the backline and making the most of their opportunities in front of goal. Jake Farrugia excelled in the forward line kicking seven goals and combined with the efforts of Caillin Austin in the backline helped to set up the Synners first seniors win in nearly three years. Leadership on field was found through the desperation and determination of Captain Dave Bennett and the experience of Bill Biggs. Coach Ken Schwab commended the efforts of the players and showed his appreciation of a solid team effort.
These two big wins for the club have shown the type of football the Synners are capable of and they will be looking to continue this form next week as they travel to Box Hill North.
