Murray Bushrangers Raise Money for Border Medical Oncology

The Murray Bushrangers together with major partner the Hume Bank today presented a cheque for $502 towards research into Pancreatic Cancer. Talent Manager Lee Fraser said that each player and staff member provided a gold coin donation for meals that were prepared after training each night.

“The Murray Bushrangers have great support from a dedicated volunteer catering committee made up of former and current parents, family members and siblings who provide nutritious meals for the players and staff after each training session”. “With the amount of travel our squad is required to do on a weekly it is vital that everyone receives a good meal straight after training”.

Albury Football Clubs Dylan McDonald who is a member of the Murray Bushrangers leadership group confirmed the initiative of the club to raise monies for important causes “This year we have decided that players and staff members will provide a gold coin donation for each meal”.

Monies raised in April will go to the Border Medical Oncology Research Unit which is based in Wodonga. Business Manager Fiona Tuthill said “our aim at the research unit is to improve outcomes for regional cancer patients and impact on the future direction of cancer treatments. We aim to achieve this through optimum access to clinical cancer trials and the provision of quality patient care.”

Border Medical Oncology Research Fund ABN 29 514 674 155 is an ATO Endorsed Tax Deductible Gift Recipient. To make a donation please contact (02) 60515328.
