Grimes Makes AFL Debut

2007 #14 Draft Pick and former Knights Captain Jack Grimes made his AFL debut on the weekend for the Melbourne Demons in their Round 22 clash against Richmond.

Grimes picked up eight disposals and almost joined the unique club of players who kicked a goal with their first kick (following on from John Anthony, Matthew Kreuzer and Trent Cotchin who all achieved that feat this year) but his shot fell short and got punched over the line. Grimes spent a bit of time playing on fellow Knights alumni Trent Cotchin.

Grimes was the Knights 2006 Best & Fairest as a bottom aged player and the 2007 Captain. He was also Captain of the U/18 Vic Metro side and made U/18 All Australian in 2007.
