With two games to go we are sitting in 8th spot (top 8 finals structure), so both games are a must win. This coming Sunday we face Sunnybank who have been one of the inform teams of our comp, however our boys are coming off a 48 nil win over Redcliffe, in which they played extremely well.
So I am quietly confident that we can get the job done, that will just leave us with Logan Brothers in our last game of the season, and again we are confident that we can beat them to maintain our spot in the 8.
Throughout the season the boys have played some tough games and have matched it with the best teams in the comp, we lost to Forest Lake by 6, but missed 3 kicks at goal (Forest Lake have only been beaten twice in two seasons).
This season the boys have started to play with good a structure and are putting together plays that I have seen older age groups struggle with. It is a credit to the hard work and effort that each player is putting in that has the team where they are at the moment.
Each player is developing their skills and knowledge of the game to a level which will put them in good stead for the future, once they catch up (on the growth side of things) I think that they will be a hard team to beat.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the following people -
Bruce Crosby, Rodney Waddups, Sharon Lau, Mark Harris, Tanya Saldanha, Dennis Molloy, for all your help with the team throughout the year. Peter Fitzgerald, for your assistance and guidance throughout the year. The executive of the club for making sure that we have a great venue and facilities, and making sure that we have everything that we need as a playing group to be on the paddock each week. And lastly our parents for making sure that they boys are always at training and games on time.
