Social Media Policy
This policy contains the East Juniors rules in relation to social media. It has been developed to inform players and assistant staff about using social media so they feel empowered to participate, while being mindful of their responsibilities and obligations under the Club Consititution, the current privacy laws and photography of minors.
Social media are online services and tools used for publishing, sharing and discussing information. They can include forums, blogs, wikis, social networking websites, and any other websites that allow individual users to easily upload and share content.
What are the principles relating to the use of social media?
The same principles apply to online comment as to any other kind of public comment, however, there are some additional considerations that apply to online participation.
The speed and reach of online communication means that comments posted online are available immediately to a wide audience.
Material online effectively lasts forever, may be replicated endlessly, and may be sent to recipients who were never expected to see it, or who may view it out of context.
The club is the only authorised entity to have an existing waiver for use of photographs of minors on its Facebook and Twitter pages as well as the current easts Juniors Official website.
Who is covered by this policy?
This policy applies to all players, parents, supporters and volunteers of Easts Juniors District Rugby League Club.
Social Media Guidelines
Only the Social Media Liaison officer and other approved administrators are allowed to post any online content on behalf of Easts Juniors, its players or volunteers.
Easts Juniors manages all official social media and social networking accounts/pages.

When representing East Juniors online you must:
get approval from the Social Media Liaison Officer and have approval from the Junior Committee.
when posting on facebook/twitter you must create a closed group and only have photographs and other comments viewable by people approved into the group.
Not create and page on behalf of a team or Easts with out having the actions approved by the Social Media Liaison Officer and the Committee of Easts Juniors District Rugby League Club.
