Local Derby Clash

North Tamworth Bears have entered 3 grades to play in the Wests Knockout to be held 12th and 13th April at Scully Park. With all teams having several trials under their belt this will be the first opportunity for players to size up the strength of the opposition within the First Grade competition.

We have also just confirmed today that our first season game, and coincidently our first home game, will be played on Saturday 26 April 2014 (due to Tamworth Cup being held on the Sunday). All four grades will battle it out against West Tamworth Lions at Jack Woolaston Oval, followed up the very next week by another local derby clash when we verse new comers Oxley Diggers on their home turf.

It will be a few tough weeks of footy with all 3 local teams having something to prove to themselves and their fans. Bears will be striving to maintain their reputation as this years team to watch with their minds firmly set on a premiership win, Diggers will be giving their all hoping to prove their strength  and cohesiveness as the new team in the competition and, in light of this weeks news, West Tamworth will not only be out to hold onto the premiership trophy they will no doubt be wanting to prove a smooth transition of teams with Quirindi joining forces with them to field a Ladies League Tag and Reserve Grade team.
