JUNIORS REPORT ROUND 5
Leichhardt Juniors keeps going from strength to strength with more depth in attack than ever before. We are now starting to string passes together, showing great awareness and backing each other up to create a greater range of opportunities, not just relying on the strong running of one or two players.
A brilliant passage of play started from a Lucas offload and culminated in the ball passing through three sets of hands to result in a try from Elijah. Gary Jr. had the foresight to keep the ball moving which drained the opposition of defence and left them wide open.
Our defence is enthusiastic and seems to be the domain of both Ryan and Kit, running up to stifle any momentum that the opposition might have had. A private coaching session with Ryan and Kit for Lucas's defence has been booked in, as Lucas hasn't had supper for three weeks now and is starting to lose too much weight.
Michael had a really strong game with a railroading run straight over and through the defence, very much Justin Hodges' style, which was rewarded with a try.
Micah and Richard were especially strong in attack and seem to be developing some great sidestepping skills, shrugging off tackles and pumping the legs hard.
All in all it was a great display of League with signs of maturity and ball awareness creeping through, along with backing each other up both in attack and defence! Author: James Ardagna (Parent)
