JUNIORS REPORT ROUND 7
Junior Wall Report U11s: Juniors vs Dundas . Juniors win 24-4.
Different week, different team attitude. The Junior Wall is back. Our boys were devastating on the weekend, punishing Dundas 24-4 (Dundas are top of table in U11s D2) in front of our Junior-Fanatics.
The boys were tough in both defence and attack, and it showed on the Dundas team who probably haven't been used to this type of opposition. From the start the Junior Wall was switched on and gave up no room for the Dundas.
Our man of the match Dylan Cowin, lead from the front and played a great captains knock - he was in everything, with some great cover tackles and hard running. Hwan ' steam-train' Inverso continued to roll over the opposition in both attack and defence, with usually a string of Dundas players left injured behind. Malachi ' bulldozer' Matoe was back to he's bruising best, again smashing Dundas in tackles and bashing he's way thru the defence scoring some great tries. Jake -' little general' was up to he's old tricks and kept catching Dundas asleep on their line and darting over for some great dummy half tries. Jake was also quick up in marker defence. Sharbel Nadal also had a strong game in the second half with solid runs and tackling the Dundas team.
The Juniors slowly wore down Dundas, and in the end, the speedsters - Tom, Harrison, Alex, Mischa and Remy found space and time to move - which was great to see, whilst the 'hence men' Rory, Mark, Marcus, and Dylan B just kept chopping away at the Dundas team.
A great win and a statement being made by the Junior Wall. Thanks again, for all the support and funds raised for “Women In League" and the boys being in PINK Socks for the day.

UNDER 8 ORANGE
On a very chilly morning Carlingford Cougars welcomed the Girls and Boys from Balmain for this year’s Women in League round.
It was great to see both teams get in the spirit of the weeks celebrations, it was pink socks all round as Cougars got us underway. Oscar collected the ball straight from the kick off and raced down the field to post the days first points and the first of Oscar's three for the day. Back on the score board and back in business. It was clear early on Juniors were going to be tough to beat and from the resulting restart Eric resplendent in his new headgear burst through the defensive line to score the first of his impressive hat-trick. I think the headgear is here to stay.
A period of defence was called for with Tyran leading the line and together with Jude they stopped an attacking raid as the drove attacker and ball over the side line to give possession back to Leichhardt. From the play the ball Henecee streaked the length of the field to score the first of two today for big Huss. The blossoming combination of Puff and Jude lead to the fourth try of the day that started with a bullocking run from Captain of the day Jude as he stepped and jinxed his way through the Cougars defence. Just before going to ground Jude deftly off-loaded to Puff tracking nicely in support who skipped over the line to score.
The second period saw more tries with Samson getting of the mark for the day and showing great defence. A great team effort as Cougars were kept at bay on the Junior's line, none shall or did pass. Jaii added to a great defensive effort today by showing some quick hands to send Eric away for his second. Pocket rocket Thomas was away soon after as he put on the afterburners to score a great individual effort in the corner. Thomas really is this years secret weapon...and a great competitor. Before we were finished with the second period there was still time for Oscar to complete his hat-trick as he hugged the sideline to score and from the resulting kick just on the bell Jaedyn ran the length of the pitch to cross the white stripe.
The Cougars came out for the last period determined not to let Juniors have it all their own way. Their line defence was very impressive with again Tyran leading the way as Leichhardt were repelled several times as they looked to add to the score board. It was testament to the Carlingford's improved defence that despite conceding again Juniors only scored three more and all were long range efforts. Samson completed his Hat-trick with quick back to back tries, his third the result of some great inter team passing and movement and just before the bell closed out the game Eric completed his and a Hat-trick of Hat-tricks for the Juniors.
Leichhardt Juniors - 14
Carlingford Cougars - 0

Leichhardt juniors continued their run of good form against the Carlingford cougars with Kit (man of the match) leading with dogged determination in defence, his size not reflecting his impact on the game. We are starting to see some strong ball running from the likes of Richard and Michael, who seem to be able to keep their legs moving even with bodies hanging off them. The brotherly duo of Lochlan and Ryan, along with Gary and Elijah, have a knack for stifling the opposition, forcing them to lose ground.
Mika capitalised on our attack and was able to score through sheer strength and speed. Richard, too, is showing some great speed and evasive ability, bringing together a well rounded and cohesive team with fewer and fewer weaknesses. Lucas enjoyed his supper after some strong tackles and a good straight run.
Well done boys!

UNDER 9 ORANGE
The Leichhardt Juniors under 9 orange side had a very early 8am kick off against the Holy Cross gold side on Sunday at our home ground at King George oval.
After a slow start to the game and going in to the half time break 20 points to nil down our under 9 boys showed some great skill and sportsmanship to get themselves back in to the game at 20 points to 14 with a few minutes remaining. Unfortunately, with our boys deep on the attack the Holy Cross boys took an intercept and ran the length of the field to win the game. The under 9 junior boys ended up going down 26 points to 14.
Well done to our under 9 junior boys, we are all very proud of your efforts. We eagerly await our next game.

UNDER 8 WHITE
Under 8s white played another great game against Balmain PCYC.
In the first half we were scoring try for try. PCYC had a few great players on the team. One particular player every time the ball was passed to him he would score.
We knew our team had to play and tackle together to stop this boy from scoring. In our first break we got our boys/ girl together to have a chat to rule out mistakes and concentrate on what needed to be done to tackle and play as one.
Second half we could see big improvements with Adam scoring his first Try. Adam received the ball from the first receiver and ran straight through the team to score a try. He was unstoppable well done
Leonardo, after the talk the team had, he was a different boy on the field. We saw a side to Leo that we haven’t seen before, He stopped tries, tackling the biggest guys on the field and bringing them down. This was not done on one occasion. He tackled around the legs stopping them in their track. He played an absolute wonderful game taking out man of the match - Good one Leo!
We also had Puff, Micah and Garry as reserves as Daniel was injured and Sebastian was sick.
Puff scoring 2 powerful tries by pushing through to make her way to the try line.
Micah also played well sidestepping through and scoring a try.
Finn playing magnificently scoring 2 tries missing out on his third.
Garry also playing well running 60m ,and being tackled before the line.
The team also tackled well stopping the opposition from scoring
We defeated PCYC 6 tries to 4 - well done Juniors
