Curtis Rona will become the second Joondalup Giants junior to play in the NRL this Friday night when North Queensland Cowboys host Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in the NRL's Good Friday 'Friday Night Football'.
The game can be watched live on GEM in Western Australia, from 5:30pm.
Below is a link to the article the North Queensland Cowboys posted on their website.
Rona follows in the footsteps of Lee Temaari, who was the first Giants player to play NRL. Temaari debuted for the St.George-Illawarra Dragons in 2006 before moving to the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in 2007, where he played 30 games in just over 2 seasons (scoring 2 tries) before Parramatta Eels picked him up for the 2010 season. Temaari was selected in the New Zealand training squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup. In total, Temaari played 33 NRL games.
We at the Joondalup Giants wish Curtis Rona the best of luck with his debut game, the season ahead, and indeed his career in the NRL. We wish him all the success he deserves. G's up, Curtis!
