The Joondalup Giants have survived an ambush from a much improved Willagee Bears side. Scoring in the final seconds to secure a 30-26 win. Having several players out for the weekend’s game, the Giants always knew Willagee would be a danger game. Willagee opened up the scoring in the first set of the game after capitalising on an error by Joondalup off the kick off. Willagee scored 14 un-answered points before the Giants scored just before half time to go into the break down 20-6. After a rev up from coach Mick Smith and Captain Taurean Sheehan, Joondalup dug deep and managed to claw there way back and snatch a victory in the dying seconds through a try from Frank Matthewman. Macey Howarth was at his consistent best and was the Giants best on the day. This week Joondalup clash with North Beach, in the Northern Derby at Admiral Reserve, Heathridge. 1st Grade kick off at 3:15pm with Reserve Grade at 1:45pm and Womens OzTag at 12:30pm.
