Important message to all Fosters Phantoms.....

A message to all Fosters Phantoms members:

At our recent Committee meeting, an issue was brought to our attention regarding an opposition Scorer's aggressive behaviour and language towards Referee's. The Fosters Scorer/Parent on the bench was concerned and at times frightened of the aggressive nature of the opposition Scorer's behaviour.

As a result of this, we want to reiterate to all Coaches and Team Managers that any kind of abusive/aggressive/inappropriate language or beh...aviour that is witnessed, or on the receiving end of, by a player, parent or team official during a game or training session, needs to be reported asap.

As per the Basketball Victoria Codes of Conduct, which we are bound to follow, "Abuse of players, Coaches, Match Officials, Referee's, and any other person involved, is unacceptable behaviour.

The first person to notify would be your Coach or Team Manager. The Coach can approach the Referee's and notify them of the inappropriate behaviour/language, if they are not aware, and ask that this is dealt with appropriately.
If the behaviour continues, the Coach/Team Manager should then request for the Referee Supervisor to attend the situation.

If you wish to take the matter further, you need to make an official complaint through the Club. All complaints and concerns should be directed to our President Rob Dielemans, via email to The complaint will then be dealt with appropriately.

Please remember, this type of behaviour is NOT acceptable.

Basketball is intended to be a recreational activity for enjoyment and health. The Basketball Victoria Codes of Conduct have been developed to give all participants a guide to the expectations it has on those participants.
