Breaches in Code of Conduct
There has been a recent significant increase in breaches of the codes of conduct specifically byspectators and parents within the K&MDBA community, many resulting in harsh penalties at tribunal. In light of this, the Fosters Phantoms committee wishes to reiterate that unacceptable behavior by any club member, participant or spectator will not be tolerated. As a representative of our club you are expected to comply with both the club and association codes of conduct as appro...priate, and in line with your registration agreement.
Copies of the codes of conduct were circulated to all members last year via coaches and team managers, and can be found at http://www.kilsythbasketball.com.au/index.php…. I suggest everyone re-read them and ensure that at all times they conduct themselves responsibly and respectfully.
Should you believe that for any reason, you or your representative cannot comply with the codes of conduct please contact me personally, and I will arrange a release for you and your family from the club immediately. In addition, should you be witness to a club representative conducting themselves in a manner unbecoming to the club I ask you to report it to me immediately. All conversations would be strictly confidencial.
These occurrences are unacceptable at any level of sport and it is the responsibility of all clubs and members of the K&MDBA to ensure that this behavior is ceased - in addition to tribunal hearings the Fosters Phantoms committee reserves the right, as per the clubs constitution, to take action against any team or individual who breaches these codes.
The committee and coordinators at club level as well as many of the positions held at association level are voluntary – we invest our time in this sport because we are passionate about the game and wish to continue to encourage the involvement of as many people as possible, but we need your assistance to ensure that the game and the association continues to grow and flourish and not be damaged by people who fail to conduct themselves at an acceptable level.
Yours in basketball.
