Week 1 Results For Uni Rebels Men and Women

 

 

 

 

 

The Rebels Women's lost last night after going down to Lightning 22 to 44.The Rebels Women started out great ending the first quarter 2 to 7. But an injury to playing coach Jaylene Boundry in the second quarter made it hard for the Lady Rebels to find their groove and was outscored 15 to 3, ending the half 10 to 17. The Women's side kept battling for the rest of the game but was unable to close the gap against Lightning and ended the game 22 to 44. Rebels scoring was led by Tulaha Jeffrey(8) supported by Chantelle Lee(4) and Danielle Ison(2).

Uni Rebels Men's side failed to come home with the win against Lightning, a knee injury to Brad Radovic in the first quarter was a big blow to the Rebels cause. It was a close first quarter with scores tied at 19 to 19, then Lightning got a 2 point advantage going in to the half 42 to 40. Uni Rebels closed the gap against Lightning and ended the third quarter 63 to 62. But the Rebels Men failed to launch a comeback in the fourth quarter and lost to Lightning 80 to 73. Rebels scoring was led by Jake Kirby(30), supported by new import JB Pillard(18) and Larry Hamill(12).

Hopefully next week both Rebels side can re-group and secure a win.
