Uni Rebels Men Through To The Grand Finals

In last nights DBA League Men's Preliminary Finals, Uni Rebels Men's started out great by winning the tip and getting the first points of the game. It was a close first quarter with TV Jets with a 1 point advantage going in to the first break 16 to 17. Rebels found Tom Uppena often and exploited his mismatch to gain a 2 point lead ending the half 36 to 34. TV Jets outscored the Rebels Men 17 to 14 to finish the third quarted 50 to 51 thanks to the 3-point shooting of Travis Ellis. But Rebels took control in the fourth and went to outscore TV Jets 29 to 22 and secure the win 79 to 73. All 7 Uni Rebels players got in to the rotation and contributed well on both sides of the ball. Tom Uppena(22) led the Rebels side in scoring supported by David Ronchi(15), Tyler Jefferson(15), Jake Kirby(14) and Lance Schmidt(10). Tyler Jefferson did a great job attracting defenders and finding open team mates for the assists. Uni Rebels will now face Palmerston in the Grand Final on Saturday December 5, 2015 at 8:45pm. Thank you to all the Rebels supporters who came out last night, lets go do it again on Grand Final Day! See you all there!
