On this Saturday 15th August, The seniors play their last home game of the year. It will be a top of the table clash with Coorparoo. More importantly, the club will be celebrating the life long contribution of both Springwood FC Life Members, Ron Bishop & Maria Weaver.
Over the last 30 years, Ron has held the positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer as well as groundsman, and as late as last year Ron could still be found cleaning the grounds of the club on a Monday and emptying the bins on a Wednesday.
Maria held down the most important job at any football club. She run the bar for more than 15 years. Anyone that was involved with the club during this time will know that she was so much more than a club employee. She is an incredibly warm person that was there for anyone at our club at any time, for any reason.
Unfortunately both Ron and Maria have health issues that will make this the last time that either of them will be able to attend the club. Anyone that had any involvement with these two exceptional people at our club is encouraged to come down and celebrate their contribution to our club and the lives of so many young men.
The club will also take the opportunity to induct 2 more former players into the Pumas 'Hall of Fame'. We will provide a light lunch for all former members.
Reserves start at 11:45am and the seniors at 2pm.
'Hall of Fame' induction will be at 1pm.
Presentation Night Dates

A big thanks to the staff of Bendigo Bank for cooking up hundreds of pies for last weeks Pie Nights. The kids, coaches & many parents loved them. Girls U9 Team
History was made last Friday night as for the first time ever the Pumas fielded an "All Girls" U9 team, Great stuff to all involved. If you know anyone who is keen to join in just send them to training on Tuesday nights 5pm. Record Team Numbers
If you are wondering this U9G team now makes 17 Junior Puma teams (an all time record) plus a large Auskicker squad, 6 additional Summer 9s Comp teams, plus Colts, Reserves, Seniors & Masters teams. Yep the oval is well used. Cant wait to see it get resurfaced during the off season . It should be all "Brand New" & looking perfect for the start of next season.
Hope to see everyone in their colors at the club this weekend.
