The Tweed Coast Tigers will play their last home game of the regular season tomorrow when they take on the second place Ballina Bombers in a top of the table clash at Tigerland Pottsville.
The Tigers have secured the minor premiership with 2 rounds to go and are looking to take a psychological advantage into the finals with a strong performance in front of their vocal home crowd.
Tigers Captain Jai Purcel said “We are continuing to build towards the finals and our preparation has been good. Ballina will turn up to play but I’ve asked our squad to lift our performance s across the park as we gather momentum and ensure a quality game for the home crowd.”
The Tigers will be without several key forwards in Ash Gemmill and Josh Bone, however the return from injury of small forward Shane Peddie, stalwart utility player John Cassidy and tall Lachlan Turner ensures there’s no gaps. Another big in for the Tigers will be giant ruckman Brennan Lye who towers over all other players in the league at 6 foot 9 inches and causes the opposition ruckman and coaches many headaches.
The Tigers engine room is finding form and rhythm at the right time of the season and is expected to fire tomorrow with John Bevan, Jimmy Walle and Jai Purcel the leading onball combination in the competition.
The game starts at 2pm at Pottsville and Tigers President wants all the locals to come and support their local AFL team “We are looking for a big home crowd tomorrow to show the growth of AFL in this community, there will be plenty of food and a jumping castle for the kids.”
Gamer starts at 2pm at Tigerland Pottsville.
