New Coaching Appointments for 2011
1st Grade – Assistant Coach – Brock Weston
Brock spent most of the past decade as a first grade and premiership player at Belconnen. Brock served as Welfare Officer last year and has been a great leader around the club. Brock joins Rhys McAlister who was already an Assistant Coach in 2010.
2nd Grade Coach – John Williams
Belconnen games record holder John Williams played for the club from 1991 through 2008 and played in every grade from 1st Grade through to 4th Grade and under 19s. John has previous coaching experience and a premiership winning coach. Also a qualified fitness trainer.
3rd Grade Coach – Jeremy Foster
Puddles coached 4th grade last year to 2nd position on the home and away ladder and has been a great servant of the club since arriving a decade ago. Jeremy is enthusiastic about the step up to the 3rd grade Coach and the opportunity to develop players.
4th Grade Coach – Rory Markham
Rory is a local junior who advanced to the senior club in 2000 and been a servant of the Committee as well. Rory has played football in 2nd, 3rd and 4th Grades over the past decade and was one of the leaders of the 4th grade team in 2010. Rory is raring to go in his first year of coaching.
Under 18’s – John Harper & Women’s Team Justin O’Dea
Both John Harper and Justin O’Dea will continue in their roles as Coach of the Under 18’s and Women’s Team respectively. Both coaches are looking to take the next step after the Under 18’s finishing second in 2010, and the Women’s Team making the preliminary final.
