Summer Training - Mens and Womens Players
Tuesday and Thursday nights from November 13th.
6:00pm - 7:15pm, all welcome!
With the passing of "Big Al" his wife Cheryl has asked us to assist at the Funeral by way of supplying pallbearers and escorts in and out and taking part in the eulogy. Personally I think this would is a great honour that Al's family want us to do that and we shouldn't let him or Cheryl down.
So the service for our mate is at 10.30am Wednesday at Pedigrews Family Funerals 984 Hunter Street West. (across the road from Secret Heart Church.)
As many Blues Brothers as possible are asked to be there by 10.15am wearing the Blues Brothers Shirts and if possible a black armband.
We will provide a guard of honour and escort Al in, John McMahon will deliver the eulogy from the Brothers, we will at the completion escort the hearse with our mate in it for the last time.
A wake will follow the service and will be held at the Seven Seas Hotel Carrington, THIS was at Al's request.
Al was our mate and never lived the high life or flashed money around, mainly because they never had a lot although both working all their life, so at the wake a collection will be taken, not just from the Blues Brothers but from everyone so if you can assist please do, Bruce McQualter will be heading that up.
Al's son in law Steve is the go to man for the service his contact number is 0427 135 653. He has asked that if anyone has any photo's of Al in his playing days could you get in touch with him and they can hopefully use then on the day.
Keep in mind that Al's wife's name was Cheryl, his daughter is Tanya whose husband is Steve there are 4 grand kids.
Guys as sad as this is Al had time to get ready for it and he asked for his mates to help him, we are those mates so if we only do one good thing this year lets see off our old mate in the best way possible. If you know how to get in touch with anyone else who knew Big Al please contact them about Wednesday.
Although some of us just wont be able to get the,
Lets give the Big Man a Big Sendoff.
