Every team has one, that one guy that bleeds football, the one guy who would give his left nut to win a flag, the one guy who shows up week in and week out always putting in everything not wanting any accolades, fame or fortune he just wants to play football. For the Cats that man is Ranga.
Ever since moving to the Brook for Howlong Ranga has been a key part of the Cats backline winning rookie of the year in 2009, 2013 B&F runner up and countless Best Backman awards Ranga has proved that he knows how to play footy.
For those that don’t know him, Ranga is a big bulking fullback that loves to hit people… HARD. He loves any opportunity to spoil a mark and will always be looking for a big hit and he never misses his target (even if it is his own teammates sometimes). For many years Ranga burden a lot of responsibility in the backline but now with a strong crew around him he can play the way he wants and it is paying dividends for the Cats team.
In 2016 the Cats defence are averaging 25 points a game which is an amazing effort and a lot of that can be put down to Rangas efforts and leadership. Ranga likes to think he is the team clown I guess because of the hair he feels he has to be but when it comes to Saturday he never jokes.
Cats President Ken “Splinter Cell” Garland said “Ranga knows what it really means to be a Cat, he puts in effort on and off the field and is always willing to put his body on the line for the good of the team, he is having a great season and deserves it after years of effort.”
